About the Role
As a Logistics Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient coordination of materials and equipment required by our external suppliers for production across Europe. You will oversee international logistics flows, warehouse operations, and supplier coordination to guarantee timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of components.
This position combines strategic logistics planning with hands-on operational oversight, including on-site presence at warehouses and Tier 1 & Tier 2 supplier facilities. Approximately 30% of the role involves on-site activities such as material reception verification and process control.
You will work closely with Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Finance, and external logistics partners to ensure smooth material flow across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
International Logistics Coordination
Plan and coordinate logistics activities for materials and equipment required by external suppliers across Europe and, when necessary, internationally.
Ensure timely and cost-efficient transportation of goods between suppliers, warehouses, and project locations.
Manage relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, and logistics service providers.
Supplier & Supply Chain Coordination
Maintain close coordination with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers to ensure material availability and alignment with production schedules.
Identify potential supply chain risks and proactively implement mitigation measures.
Support the definition of a more centralized and structured logistics strategy across Spain and Europe.
Warehouse & Inventory Management
Support the logistics operations of the company-owned warehouse located near the office, in coordination with the Warehouse Manager.
Contribute to the development and structuring of warehouse logistics processes to ensure efficiency and traceability.
Oversee physical inventory control and conduct periodic audits in collaboration with Finance to ensure alignment with ERP records.
Import / Export & Customs Compliance
Ensure correct execution of import and export operations, maintaining fiscal traceability and proper documentation (Bill of Lading, Proforma Invoice, Packing List, HS Codes, etc.).
Guarantee compliance with internal policies and applicable international trade regulations.
Process Standardization & Continuous Improvement
Develop and implement standardized logistics procedures to ensure consistency and reliability.
Monitor logistics performance metrics and KPIs, proposing improvements to reduce lead times and optimize costs.
Apply continuous improvement principles to streamline logistics operations.
On-Site Activities
Perform on-site verification and reception of mechanical parts and logistics tooling at Tier 1 and Tier 2 facilities.
Verify that loading and unloading processes follow established procedures and quality standards.
Travel Expectations
Travel regularly to warehouses and supplier facilities across Spain and Europe.
Occasional travel to Asia may be required depending on project needs.
Required Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain roles, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Experience coordinating international suppliers and logistics flows across Europe.
Strong understanding of transportation management, inventory control, customs procedures, and international trade documentation.
Experience managing freight forwarders, carriers, and warehouse operations.
Familiarity with ERP systems and logistics management tools.
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies is an asset.
Previous experience in the naval, marine, offshore, or heavy industrial sector is a strong plus.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders across locations.
Detail-oriented and structured, with a strong focus on compliance and documentation accuracy.
Proactive and hands-on mindset in a dynamic operational environment.
Fluent in Spanish & English; additional European languages are a plus.
Willingness to travel frequently (approximately 35–40%).
