About the role
The FAT, HAT & Commissioning Engineer Technician for Operations & Service oversees the execution, and documentation of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Harbour Acceptance Tests (HAT), and the commissioning of electromechanical systems, as well as the installation, repair, and maintenance of our electrical systems. This role ensures the reliability and safety of our cutting-edge wind-assisted propulsion technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that electrical systems are installed, maintained, and repaired according to safety standards and regulations.
- Supervise and train electricians and apprentices, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs effectively.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to design and implement electrical systems in new construction projects.
- Coordinate with other team members from bound4blue or from other companies (external suppliers, Tier 1, 2 or 3) to ensure that the projects are correctly organized and all the necessary materials are on place and ready to repair.
- Manage budgets and timelines for electrical projects, especially in Service repairs for Warranties or Inspections, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Document all test results, deviations, non-conformities, and corrective actions taken.
- Stay up to date with new electrical technologies, regulations, and safety standards, and make recommendations for improvements to existing systems.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of machines, providing after-sales services, maintenance and troubleshooting support.
Required competencies
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an electrician in a supervisory or management role.
- FPII o Ciclo Formación Grado Superior (CFGS) in electricity and/or mechatronics.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics.
- Experience with electrical maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
- Excellent communication in Spanish, and an advanced level of English.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
- Willingness and availability to travel domestically and internationally for on-site work, including on-vessel commissioning up to 120 days per year.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
- Programming skills to analyse, test and edit (if necessary) the software are a plus.
