About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Supply Chain Manager to lead and optimize our global supply chain operations across Europe and Asia. This role is pivotal to ensuring the seamless coordination of planning, procurement, logistics, and operational execution between both regions. You will drive end-to-end supply chain strategy, enhance cross-regional collaboration, and ensure that all activities are aligned with business goals, quality standards, and market demands.
This is a highly cross-functional role that will work closely with global teams in logistics, procurement, production, engineering, and project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Global Supply Chain Strategy: Develop, implement, and oversee global supply chain strategies to support company objectives, ensuring alignment between European and Asian operations.
- Cross-Regional Coordination: Act as the key liaison between Europe and Asia to synchronize supply chain activities, from sourcing and manufacturing to delivery and final execution.
- Demand Forecasting & Planning: Lead the forecasting and planning processes for materials, capacity, and inventory across both regions, ensuring optimal resource availability.
- Procurement & Supplier Management: Oversee supplier performance and relationships, particularly in Asia (especially China), to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.
- Logistics & Distribution Oversight: Coordinate international logistics operations, managing shipment schedules, customs regulations, and delivery timelines to ensure global consistency and efficiency.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance across different jurisdictions.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline cross-border operations and workflows.
- Performance Monitoring: Track key supply chain KPIs, generating regular reports and insights to drive decision-making and performance improvements.
- Project Management: Lead or support regional and global supply chain projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic priorities.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with clients or internal stakeholders as needed to align expectations, defend supply chain decisions, and provide strategic updates.
- Cultural & Market Adaptability: Navigate and adapt supply chain strategies to meet cultural, regulatory, and logistical nuances in both European and Asian markets.
Required Competencies
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., APICS, PMP) are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain or operations management, preferably with a global scope and significant exposure to Asian markets. Experience in or with China is highly valued.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent organizational abilities; proven experience managing complex international supply chains.
- Tools & Systems: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), planning software, and tools such as GANTT charts. Familiarity with supply chain analytics and demand planning platforms.
- Languages: Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required. Mandarin Chinese is a significant plus, as is fluency in any additional European or Asian languages.
- Travel: Willingness to travel up to 35–40% across Europe and Asia to manage suppliers, operations, and key projects on-site.
- Attributes: Culturally aware, results-driven, highly organized, and proactive. Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
