About the Role
As the Operations Manager Europe at bound4blue, you will be at the forefront of overseeing and optimizing our operations across Europe.
This role involves daily collaboration with our suppliers’ plants to ensure seamless execution of manufacturing, quality assurance, and procurement processes. You will be responsible for ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently, from managing supplier relations to overseeing production workflows.
You will play a key role in enhancing the performance and growth of our business in the region by ensuring operational excellence, implementing best practices, and maintaining close communication with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Operational Oversight: Supervise all operations for our European business, ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of services and products.
• Supplier Management: Maintain close, daily contact with supplier plants to oversee manufacturing, quality control, and adherence to agreed timelines and specifications.
• Quality Control: Ensure that all products meet high-quality standards and regulatory requirements, and collaborate with suppliers to address any quality issues with the support of the Quality Team and, if necessary, Engineering.
• Procurement Coordination: Work with the procurement team to ensure timely procurement of materials and services from suppliers, while monitoring costs and delivery schedules.
• Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve operational procedures, recommending and implementing improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with teams across various departments (engineering, procurement, logistics, etc.) to align operational goals and ensure smooth project execution.
• Logistics and Delivery Management: Oversee logistics, ensuring the on-time and cost-effective delivery of components and services.
• Supplier Relations: Foster strong and effective relationships with suppliers, managing any disputes, issues, or delays that may arise.
• Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all operational activities are in compliance with legal regulations, industry standards, and internal company policies.
• Reporting: Provide regular reports on operational performance, supplier performance, and process improvements to senior management.
Required Competencies
• Degree: Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in an operations management role, preferably within the manufacturing, supply chain, or related industries (wind propulsion, automotive, or other advanced technology sectors).
• Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Knowledge: In-depth understanding of operations management, quality control, supplier relations, and logistics.
• Tools: Experience with operations and supply chain management software/tools.
• Languages: Fluent in English, both written and verbal; proficiency in any additional European languages (especially Spanish, French, or German) is a plus.
• Business Travels: availability to travel between 100 – 150 days a year.
• Attributes: Proactive, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, international environment. Strong communicator, capable of managing cross-functional teams and fostering strong supplier partnerships.
